19 Jan Augusta Golf Club
Augusta Golf Club
It is difficult to say who first suggested the idea of a golf course at Augusta. Two names are credited in the very early days, those of Mr P.C. Anderson who was the Headmaster of Scotch College from 1904 to 1945, and also the British Open Champion in 1899, and Mr H.A. Stanes who was the publican of the Augusta Hotel from 1919 to 1946. Who ever created the course the Western Australian public thanks you. Augusta is a magnificent course and one of my true favourites despite the sand greens. The layout is one of the best in the state and the landscape is truly beautiful, be sure to look for the 5mts high ancient blackboys. There are too many great holes to list, so just get down there and play them all now!!!!
Augusta is a must do when in the south west.
